Welcome to the Pershing County website and thank you for visiting the Clerk-Treasurer page. We hope to provide you with useful information about the duties and responsibilities of our office.

The Clerk-Treasurer is an elected position that has many functions. Nevada State Statute establishes many of our duties, others are county ordinance, and some are just county custom.

By statute we are Clerk to the Pershing County Commission, the Regional Transportation Commission, Debt Management Commission, the Board of Equalization and any others required by statute.

The office issues marriage licenses to couples wishing to get married and Certificates of Permission to Perform Marriages to the ministers in our county wishing to marry those couples. We file Fictitious Firm Name Certificates for businesses. The County's welfare program is also administered from the Clerk-Treasurer's Office.

The Office is also charged with conducting the elections within Pershing County including the Primary Election in June, the General Election in November and any special elections that may be called. The list of registered voters for Pershing County is also maintained in the Clerk's Office.

It is the responsibility of the Clerk-Treasurer to receive, disburse and invest county funds. The office is responsible for the collection of real and personal Property Taxes and numerous special assessments and utilities.
